Sydney (Pink/Black with brown hair/ponytail wears an L for an oversized fit as a 10/12, broad shoulders, and carries weight in her upper arms.  

Plus Example: Size 16/2X top, recommended to size to a 3X if you have broad shoulders and carry weight in your arms. 

Petite, stick with your true size, or oversized if you prefer this fit. Models in Green with black denim, and Mommy & Me photos are both in Smalls and are a size 3/4.
